Thoughts about the book of “A Scientist Who Travels Through the Spirit World”
I bought this book “A Scientist Who Travels Through the Spirit World” more than ten years ago. Since I really want to know what the world after death is like, I recently took it off the bookshelf and read it again. This book is written through the records of the spiritual communication of the famous Swedish genius scientist Swedenborg. It mainly describes the world after death, especially the description of heaven, with rich and specific information.
I have always had doubts about why humans or animals come to this world. On the other hand, I subconsciously believe that as long as I work hard to do good things in this life, I will be reborn in heaven after death, and all problems will be solved. After rereading it, I saw a different focus than before. It turns out that if a person made a mistake in the past and wants to repent and be forgiven, it is not enough to have inner regrets. Only by taking action through the flesh that exists in the world, loving and doing good, can one atone for his sins and be reborn. In the world after death, even in heaven, it is impossible to repent and be reborn.
I think, after death, only the soul that communicates through thoughts is left, and there is no need to nourish this body. Without the limitations of the body, no one needs to rely on anyone. Without the harsh and difficult material world, people seem to lack the reason to help each other. Maybe there is no chance to atone for sins. So coming to this material world is just for us to make up for the people we once owed, and for us to let the soul grow by experiencing pain through the limitations of the body, so that we can be reborn.
《通行靈界的科學家》這本書我買了十幾年，由於我太想知道死後的世界是如何一個樣子，所以我最近重新從書架上拿下來閱讀。這本書是透過頗負盛名的 瑞典天才科學家史威登堡通靈的紀錄所書寫的，主要是描寫死後的世界，尤其是對於天堂的描述，資料豐富而具體。
我一直對於人或動物為何來到世界上存著疑問，另一方面，潛意識認為只要這一世努力做好事，死後生到天堂，所有的事情就解決了。重讀之後，我看到了與以前不同的重點。原來人如果在過去犯了錯誤想要悔改獲得原諒，只有內心懊悔是不夠的，只有透過存在於世上的肉體付諸行動，去愛、去行善，才能贖罪重生。在死後的世界，即使是天堂，是無法悔改重生的。
我思索，當人死後，只剩下透過意念溝通的靈魂，不須滋養這具肉體，沒有肉體的侷限，確實誰也不需要再依靠誰了。缺乏苛刻困苦的物質世界，人跟人之間似乎也缺乏互相幫助的理由了。也許想要贖罪也找不到機會了。所以來到這個物質的世界，只是為了讓我們彌補我們曾經虧欠的人，並且讓我們藉由肉體的侷限，讓靈魂因體驗痛苦而成長，如此才能重生。
